this is what Andrew offers us, as usual, in A Slice of Love and it both receives a full 5 drops and an Award of Excellence! The situations are very real and more than once I wanted to cry or strangle people in the story (and part of it is based on something that actually happened in PA, where the story is set), so the authenticity was riveting. I love watching as these two men find their way through many personal issues/fears and the pressure of exes, family, and helping stand up for whats right. Marcus is a new character who opens a bakery across from Café Belgie (If you would love Marcuss Carrot Cake recipe, pop over to Andrew Greys new blog and get yourself a taste, lol). If you recall, Gregory is Sebastians ex we met in A Serving of Love, who contracted HIV. The characters, Marcus and Gregory, are brought together by need and Sebastian. Later books in a series often do not hold true to the earlier excitement and feel, luckily A Slice of Love does NOT suffer from such issues! I love Andrews stories, especially these and the Range ones. When I first heard that the new Of Love book was due out, I was thrilled. But the greatest complication by far is Marcus and Gregory’s struggle to learn to trust each other and themselves, especially when it comes to baking up matters of the heart. To top it off, Gregory’s ex-boyfriend makes an appearance just when he is at his most vulnerable. Then Marcus and Gregory disagree over whether to involve A Slice of Heaven in a civil rights dispute. Soon he’s looking forward to spending time with Marcus, but as the business-and their relationship-grows, so do the complications: First Marcus’s stepmother involves him in a cause that could give the bakery a reputation it doesn’t need. Gregory takes a second job at the bakery to help pay the bills now that his health is improving.

He needs more help than he can afford, so when he hires accountant Gregory Southland, it’s for hours in the shop as well as on the books. Unfortunately, Marcus doesn’t have a large fortune-just a bakery, A Slice of Heaven, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and the determination to make it successful. That’s the advice Marcus Wilson has heard. To make a small fortune, start with a large fortune and open a bakery.
